    I believe this describes all kinds of assignments.

    I enter this discussion not because I am native English, but I have been in an English congregation for such a long time, that I know what a talk is, and isn't.
    It is a meeting item in which one person addresses the audience. In the old Service Meeting talk also implied no audience participation.
    So it is applied to public talks. When it is a student assignment, it is only given by a brother.

    since 95 the term "assignment" was used, but in our Ministry School book we also read the following:

    *** be p. 284 par. 8 Guidelines for School Overseers ***
    In determining which student talks to assign to brothers and which ones to sisters, ...
