Okej, det fanns visst på flera ställen. Jag skulle vilja se e-post istället, det känns som en mer vedertagen översättning. (tyda.se har t.ex. ingen översättning för e-brev)

Ja, jag gick igenom och bytte ut flera förekomster av mail till e-brev, eller lämpligare. (Har en viss allergi mot mail och mejl, som jag förmodligen kommer få leva med.)

Jag är kanske lite väl personlig i denna översättning, men post är mer av en klump med brev. Man skickar brev med posten. Så det blir en kamp mellan vad som är logiskt och vad som används. Det är å andra sidan samma problem i engelskan, vilket jag alltid har varit fundersam emot.

Där det står an email kan man inte skrev ett e-post. "Du får ett e-post" mot "Du får ett e-brev". Man kan även resonera att det är ett nytt ord, med nya språkregler.

Jag har precis samma allergi mot mail och mejl (även e-brev därav diskussionen) och jag håller helt och hållet med dig i resonemanget kring personligt tycke och brev vs. post.

Sitter och skummar igenom SAOL och hittar dessa:
e-brev - brev som skickas via e-post
e-brevlåda
e-post - elektronisk post
e-posta - sända med e-post
e-postadress
e-postmeddelande
mejl - brev via elektronisk post
mejla - skicka e-post

e-brev, mejl och e-postmeddelande är alltså helt korrekt svenska så det är nog bara en fråga om vad som passar bäst in i sammanhanget.

Det var bra att det fanns i SAOL, det hade varit förvånande annars. Även mejla, men det måste vi inte använda.

Jag tror nog att det blir bra om man tänker det som sammanhangen brev och post.
