Now Supporting XLSX Spreadsheet Files

Upload your .xlsx file to your project, and WebTranslateIt will automatically analyze the header row to identify your source text, translations, and metadata. Here’s how to structure your spreadsheet:

Spreadsheet Format

Key Column (Optional)

If you want to assign unique identifiers to your translations, add a column with one of these headers:

  • key
  • title

Source Text Column

Your source language content should be under a header matching one of:

  • default text
  • source text
  • source
  • default
  • Your source language code (e.g., en or en-US)
  • Language code followed by “translation” or “text” (e.g., en translation, en text)

Target Text Column

Your translated content should be under a header matching one of:

  • target text
  • target
  • translation
  • Language code followed by “translation” or “text” (e.g., fr translation, fr text)

Developer Instructions Column (Optional)

To provide context or instructions for translators, use a column with one of these headers:

  • title
  • comment / comments
  • note / notes
  • instruction / instructions
