Project-Level Context
In your project settings under “Translation Resources”, you’ll find a new AI Context field where you can describe:
- Your product/service and target audience
- Industry-specific terminology and tone preferences
- Formality requirements (formal/informal address)
- Terms that should remain untranslated (brand names, technical terms)
- Character length constraints for UI elements
Language-Specific Context
Each target language can also have its own context in the language settings. Use this for:
- Regional preferences (e.g., Latin American vs. European Spanish)
- Language-specific formality rules (tu/vous, du/Sie)
- Local date/number format preferences
How It Works
When you request AI translations, your context is automatically included in the prompt, helping the AI produce more accurate and consistent translations tailored to your project’s needs.
In addition to your custom context, AI translations also receive:
- TermBase terms — Technical terms and their approved translations from your project’s TermBase
- Segment instructions — Any instructions you’ve added to individual segments are passed along to guide the translation
