    i tried with thunderbird, the feed is not generated as mentioned and feed button is removed from browsers, you need extra extensions for that. I suggest we offer to customize the given link, using it as a template, this always works. Something like this:

    "... To subscribe to the public posts of someone open his public profile, copy his username and podname and paste into appropriate positions in this URL: https://<b>podname</b>.org/public/<b>username</b>.atom. Then you can use any feed reader you choose to subscribe. Diaspora* uses Atom rather than RSS."
