What is a segment?

All plans include a free 15-day trial. If you need more time to evaluate WebTranslateIt, let us know and we will be happy to extend it for you.

With WebTranslateIt you pay as you go. You simply pay month-by-month. If you cancel, you will have to pay the current month, but you won’t be billed again. You are always free to upgrade, downgrade or cancel your account at any time without any penalties.

A segment is a string in your source language file. Each plan has a different segment storage capacity.
We only take in account segments from the source language file, we don’t count segments in translations. So if you have 1000 segments to translate from English to 3 different languages, we count that you need to store 1000 segments. Other translation platforms count that you need to store 4000 segments 😬 -
WebTranslateIt is a better way to translate software.

A rubygem is a package containing some code. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RubyGems. Ruby on Rails is a programming framework, like .NET for instance. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_on_Rails
i18n_viz is a rubygem that lets your browse your own Ruby on Rails application and visualize and edit your translations. Think of it as a reversed lookup for translations.
