Javascript app internationalization and localization

JavaScript (JS) is a lightweight interpreted or JIT-compiled programming language with first-class functions. While it is most well-known as the scripting language for Web pages, many non-browser environments also use it, such as Node.js, Apache CouchDB and Adobe Acrobat. JavaScript is a prototype-based, multi-paradigm, dynamic language, supporting object-oriented, imperative, and declarative (e.g. functional programming) styles.

Best way to localize Javascript

The first step is to extract the text to translate into language files. This process is called internationalization. You can move the text to translate into JSON hashes and call them in your Javascript.

Once you have internationalized your Javascript, use a translation software localization tool such as WebTranslateIt to manage your localization workflow.

It is easy to translate a Javascript app with WebTranslateIt. Create a project, upload your source language file in the File Manager and translate it on the Translation Interface.

The tools included in WebTranslateIt, such as Batch Operations, the Translation Memory or Machine Translation can help you translate that file automatically, faster and cost effectively.
