Editing a translation is the process of creating a new version in a dedicated language of the original content. Therefor you see the original text beside input fields for the translated or localized version of the content. On the right side of the dialog you find the properties of this version.

Having an overview of your work is critical to your success factor for website translations. These statistics allow you a basic evaluation of your system and how many translations are made within which language and what coverage of your site you have with this.

If you have a site with various languages and even more content included it is helpful to e.g. copy existing translations from one language to an other. All these kind of maintence functions are included in this dialog. Currently the copy of languages is the primary function offered. Other functions will come available upon request.

Translations are based on languages. Within the Joomla! system all languages can be related to the static language files. These files include the translation of all static text within your system.

Joom!Fish uses these files to determin which languages are available for your installation. You can download and install new files on the Joomla! <a href="http://extensions.joomla.org/index.php?option=com_mtree&task=listcats&cat_id=1837&Itemid=35" target="_blank">extensions directory</a>.<br /> After installation of these files you can configure the details of your language, such as the name, URL short code and also the site configuration settings for this language in this dialog.

As config elements are somehow complex definitions and you can mess quite a lot with wrong configuration it is recommended to ask your extension developer to provide you the correct XML files. The creation of these files is simple and should be easy for any developer.
