WebTranslateIt <a href="/blog/posts/149-File-encoding-detection-improvements" target="blank">automatically detects the file’s character encoding</a>. The import is taking place in the background. You can close your web browser or visit another page.<br/>Importing files may take a while, depending on the amount of segments. Importing 1,000 segments usually takes a minute.

<strong>Tip:</strong> Click on any master file name to rename in batch. Click on the arrow to view target files. Add directories to model your file architecture.

Given a generic language <code>en</code> for English and sub-languages <code>en-US</code> for English, United States and <code>en-GB</code> for English, Great Britain. <code>en-US</code> and <code>en-GB</code> will automatically inherit the translations from <code>en</code>. <a href="/docs/locale/#language-inheritance">Learn more about language inheritance in the documentation</a>.
