In Hebrew, verbs have different forms for female and male. Since this text is personal (as I understand), can't use the male-form (as I would do for system messages for example). I wonder what did the Arabic translators do in this case?

In theory we have a system to handle such cases, see the first general note: https://github.com/diaspora/diaspora/wiki/How-to-contribute-translations. Though nobody every really tried to apply it and worked through the translations, passing the needed informations in the translate helper function, contributed all needed definitions, wrote proper docs etc. If you want to improve the situation you're very welcome, I'm sure the author of the i18n-inflector gem would answer some questions too, but this is really effort that needs to be done by native speakers, so I can't help beyond this initial pointers.
