s.th. means "something"? It doesn't make sense to me, as it is. Can you provide context please?

  2. It depends on what is counted e.g. households, shops in a business territory or even the number of times a street was searched during campaigns. Most likely it is not necessary to add more fields for these different purposes, so the description is very general.

So it literally means 'something'. Fair enough.
